Why a BMW rewards a specialist
A BMW is a network of modules that talk to each other. Swapping a battery, doing the rear brakes or chasing a warning light all involve the car's software as well as its hardware.
We do both halves of the job at your car: the wrench work, and the registration, coding and resets that go with it.
What we see on BMW cars
Oil leaking from the filter housing
On the N51, N52, N54 and N55 six-cylinder engines, the oil filter housing gasket is a known leak. The risk is where the oil goes: onto the serpentine belt, which can slip off and get pulled into the front crankshaft seal. A small leak here is worth fixing before it becomes an engine problem.
"Drivetrain malfunction"
This message means the car has found an engine or transmission fault, and it may limit power. Common causes include spark plugs, ignition coils, the fuel pump and the injectors. It needs a scan and a test, not a guess.
Warning lights after a weak battery
A tired battery, or a new one that was never registered, can set faults across several modules at once. We check the voltage first, fix the cause, then clear what it left behind.
Brake warning after a pad change
BMW pad wear sensors are single-use once they've triggered, and the CBS service system needs resetting for new pads. Miss either one and the warning stays on.
BMW jobs that need more than a wrench
- Battery registration. Every new battery is registered to the car, so the charging system knows it has a fresh one.
- Parking brake workshop mode. On models with an electronic parking brake, the rear calipers go into workshop mode before the pads come out and are reset after.
- CBS reset. The Condition Based Service reminder is reset for the work we've done, so the car's service schedule stays accurate.
- Honest starter pricing. On the N51 and N52 six-cylinders the starter sits under the intake manifold. We price that up front, not halfway through.

Questions
BMW owners ask
Do you register BMW batteries?
Yes. Every BMW battery we fit is registered to the car. If yours was replaced somewhere else and you're not sure it was registered, we can check during a diagnostic.
Will using an independent mechanic void my BMW warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done somewhere other than the dealer. Keep your receipts. Repairs that the warranty itself pays for still go through the dealer.
Do you work on MINI too?
Yes. MINIs share a lot of BMW's electronics, including battery registration, and get exactly the same treatment.
Can you reset the brake service reminder?
Yes, for the work we do. When we replace pads, the wear sensors and the CBS reminder are dealt with as part of the job.
