Where German cars are different

The steps that get skipped

01

Battery registration

On many BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes and Porsche models, a new battery has to be registered to the car. Skip it and the car keeps charging the new battery like the old one. It can over- or undercharge it, and start-stop may stop working.

02

Parking brake service mode

Rear pads on a car with an electronic parking brake can't just be pushed back. The calipers go into service mode first and get reset after. Forcing the piston back can damage the caliper.

03

Wear sensors and service resets

Brake wear sensors are single-use once they've triggered, and BMWs track brake wear in their service system. New sensor where it's needed, reminder reset, and the dash stops asking.

04

Every module, not just the engine

A basic code reader only sees the engine and emissions side. ABS, airbag, parking brake and battery faults live in their own modules. We scan all of them.

Why German cars are a specialty

The difference isn't the bolts. It's the software. German cars run dozens of control modules, and many everyday jobs involve telling the car what you've done: registering a battery, putting the parking brake into service mode, resetting the service system.

Skip those steps and the job looks finished, but it isn't. The car charges the new battery wrong, the warning light comes back, or a caliper gets damaged on the way in.

Dealer-level steps, without the drop-off

The dealer does these steps, but it means a morning off work, a loaner or a ride, and your car on their lot until a technician is free. We do them at your car, from 9am to 9pm, seven days a week.

Our prices are published, and they're the same whatever the badge. Parts are quoted for your car before we start.

Your warranty stays intact

Using an independent mechanic doesn't void your warranty. The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act says a manufacturer or dealer can't deny coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done somewhere else. Keep your receipts.

Repairs that the warranty itself pays for still go through the dealer.

Every make welcome

German cars are the specialty, not the limit. We work on every make and model, at the same published prices.

Questions

German car owners ask

Do you only work on German cars?

No. We work on all makes and models. German cars are our specialty.

Do German cars cost more to fix with you?

Our published labor prices are the same whatever the badge. Parts for German cars can cost more, and we quote them for your car before we start.

What can you do at my house?

Diagnostics, batteries including registration, brakes including electronic parking brakes, alternators, starters and pre-purchase inspections. Bigger jobs that need a lift go to our shop.

Will using you void my warranty?

No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer or dealer can't deny warranty coverage just because maintenance or repairs were done somewhere other than the dealer. Keep your receipts. Repairs that the warranty itself pays for still go through the dealer.
